Daily Responsibilities
  • Analyzes process and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Leads discovery sessions, documents and manages scope, writes requirements, performs quality assurance, configuration assistance, application training, problem resolution and third level support to new and existing clients.
  • Serves as a liaison between the IT and the business organizations throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure quick and complete documentation and clarification of requirements; represent the IT organization by serving as the prime IT contact to the business team on projects
  • Develop Business Requirements Documentation (BRD) and Functional Specifications Documentation (FSD) to include Software Requirements Specifications, Software Design Documents, Software Testing Specifications and Software Development Plans. Works with Business Owner and IT to ensure the FSD can be designed against; requires strong knowledge of business processes, software development practices, and industry practices (such as using different methodologies, e.g. JAD sessions, prototyping, waterfall, spiral and agile SCRUM)
  • Creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to impacted Business Systems teams.
  • Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts.
  • Manage the entire cycle of smaller projects, understanding that BRD and FSD activities may not be required to the full extent and can be replaced by Project Management activity (such as high level requirements, schedule development, communication management, issue management, testing and implementation)
  • Conduct user acceptance planning and execution activities in collaboration with the business and IT members; ensure defects are reported to the software development team during user acceptance test execution
  • Ensure all functionality can be traced from the end-product back through user acceptance test cases, functional specifications, business requirements and project objectives

  • 4-7 years business analysis experience with Software Development Background

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with business rules development
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and with business intelligence tools such as SAS, SQL or similar complex data tools is desired.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints
  • Proven ability to work in project teams as well as develop rapport/credibility with diverse groups; must be comfortable interacting with senior management
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
  • Flexibility of project assignments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise management software programs
  • Lean Six Sigma Certified
  • Experience with Process Improvement, Conduct analysis of present processes and identify opportunities to enhance processes
  • Experience in product conception, requirements analysis, design and development
  • Experience creating process plans that contain project goals, milestones, and resources
  • Provide detailed reports indicating system necessities and computer code functions in terms of operation.
