Daily Responsibilities
  • Deliver solutions to business problems. Evangelize out of the box capabilities when available.
  • Advise and provide technical support and training to analyst, general users, and developers.
  • Performs data imports/exports
  • Creates workflows and dialogs to simplify business processes
  • Create system views to answer commonly asked data questions
  • Management of CRM teams to aid in notification and work distribution
  • Administration, adjustment, and assignment of security roles
  • Reviews changes/designs from junior members looking to customize/develop
  • Customize existing solutions when necessary
  • Assess DefenseReady’s fit when discussing solutions and provide advice whether or not DefenseReady should be the technology to solve a specific problem.
  • Publishes changes during off peak hours
  • Adhere to development standards to ensure Dynamics CRM and DefenseReady are always in a supported state and to minimize impacts of changes to enterprise
  • Ability to brief/interact and manage Expectations of ACOS’ and Senior Military Leadership
  • Entity development within the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relations Management (CRM) Platform and integrate with other Microsoft Enterprise Products like SharePoint and SQL Server.
  • Ability to develop no code solutions within CRM. Configurations based on mature processes and customize only when necessary.
  • Demonstrate oral communication and interpersonal skills to work within a team environment. Demonstrate written communication skills sufficient to explain actions taken and how recommendations were derived
  • Collaborate with Headquarters staff, component commands, KM and IT professionals in order to identify requirements and develop customized database solutions for non CRM technical professionals to utilize
  • Assist with troubleshooting and triage, identifying whether problems are local to NAVSOC/SOCOM or will need to be routed to Permuta development team
  • Manage requirements and defect resolutions from start to finish. Work to improve reporting processes.
  • Work with data owners and database administrators to map data from authoritative sources into DefenseReady. If there is a need for more data or how data is brought in work with SOCOM, if there is a need for new entities or fields go to Permuta.
  • Advise on product upgrades and roll outs, suggest best practices to improve enterprise’s experience and minimize unforced errors.
  • Leverage relationships among DefenseReady team members in all MAJCOMS/TSOCS to improve processes and adoption of out of the box capabilities.
  • Make suggestions for improvements and provide designs depending on scope to include NAVSOC only, SOCOM enterprise, or product (supporting all DefenseReady customers). Several features/updates were made in the DefenseReady product at no additional cost based on this feedback loop to include:
    • Civilian Employment tracking
    • When data from FTNs are loaded at SOCOM will now populate Duty Status events when tied to Task Forces
    • Organization Cycle feature has been added to track things like IDTC phases and mobilization phases for reservists
    • Location tag entity has been provided to allow for multiple ways to relate locations together outside of the categories that are managed centrally at SOCOM. E.g. “50 Cal eligible range”, “Protected environment”, etc. allowing the same location to be categorized many different ways by many different audiences.
    • Children/Family members of casualties (“Gold Star”) are created automatically, copying the existing data on a service member’s family to a place where they can be managed over time.

  • Experience with the MS Enterprise Products like SharePoint, SQL Server, or BI Stack
  • Skilled at conducting detailed requirements gathering in order to develop customized reports within the CRM environment
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as CRM, SharePoint, and Visio end-user skills are mandatory
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve end users problems and provide timely responses to the customer
  • Ability to review/revise/develop formal documentation (requirements, policy, etc.)
  • Team player with a good attitude,
