Daily Responsibilities

Support of daily operations and maintenance with a focus on enterprise storage systems and networks administration in support of client offices, Exchange, financial systems, vendor servers, agency servers and application servers.

  • Assist agency with system administration activities relating to the ever-expanding EDSS infrastructure consisting of over 6 PBs or primary and data protection storage
  • Configuration, allocation, and management of the storage infrastructure
  • Integration and operations for complex systems in an enterprise data center environment
  • Enterprise-level applications, backup and disaster recovery support
  • Enterprise data migration and data replication
  • Advanced troubleshooting, trending analyses, capacity planning and technical support
  • Creating and/or providing inputs towards SAN/NAS storage system documentation and status reports including but not limited to After Action Reports, Standard Operating Procedures, System Baseline Change Requests and Configuration Management Plans.
  • Effective communication, both orally and in writing, with senior staff, information systems professionals and the non-technical user community
  • Provide assistance in planning, designing, and evaluating hardware and software recommendations to enhance and improve the EDSS as a whole.
  • Ability to work shifts to provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    • VEEAM, Veritas Netbackup, Exagrid, Veritas appliances, Snapvault, Replication director snapshots, Cloud integrated Backup and Archive
  • Storage, systems or backup administration for large environment enterprise infrastructure systems
  • Data Protection technologies/softwares using EMC array snapshots, Recoverpoint, SRDF, MirrorView, NetApp array snapshots, snapmirror, snap vault, snap Manager, Metro clusters
  • Understanding of/with: VMware ESX; vSphere; vCenter; cloud technologies; IT security and encryption technologies; Network Attached Storage (NAS) technologies; BCDR procedures; HP Blade Frame Chassis, HP Virtual Connect hardware; Converged infrastructure technologies; Data center layout and designs; Hybrid, private and public clouds; Active/Active configurations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues with network/operating systems

  • Able to secure and maintain Federal Government security clearances
