Daily Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining data bases for the Naval Special Warfare Center student training data utilizing MS SQL Server 2014 or higher, MS ASP.NET, and MS C# (C Sharp). NET programing language. Projects are not limited to designing and modifying one or several databases, but include: Working with technical and nontechnical staff to understand user and organizational needs, and to develop the databases to meet functional requirements. This also involves maintaining the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability to include Authentication & Auditing of databases. Security includes defining who can use the database as well as determining who is restricted from access one or several areas. Resolve, troubleshoot performance issues and debug problems.
  • Assist the Web Developer and Research Analyst in the development of data access patterns, reporting, charting, and documentation; as well and examine performance issues created by bad queries and indexes. Have a deep understanding of how a database works or the performance implications of the code.
  • Design tables, stored procedures, views, functions, etc; to write applications that are able to provide data feeds to web user interfaces.
  • Configure and connect users with command approved software for the purpose of reading and writing electronic records. Create, edit, and delete database objectives as required in support of training commands mission. Meet with system users and advise as to the best solution to meet change requirements.
  • Converts legacy database systems to new formats and structures.
  • Review application program and database management system updated for validity and completeness and updates as needed.
  • Implements temporary repairs as soon as possible to maintain needed operations.

  • 10+ years’ experience, preferably with Software Development Background

  • MS in Web Application Developer or an MA in Business Management preferred
