Daily Responsibilities
  • Administrative assistance with Requests for Quotes (RFQs), solicitations, and distributing task order awards and modifications
  • Work independently on projects requiring research and preparation to carry out pre-determined and recurring tasks which are designed to provide broad, but limited procurement exposure
  • Provide assistance with purchasing administration as well as other contract administration functions as required, to include (but not limited to) tracking contract status through database maintenance; generating internal contracting reports; generating draft correspondence
  • Maintain and retrieve contract documents
  • Close-outs. Work with Acquisition Create DD 1594’s accurately for final disposition of delivery order contract actions
  • Develop and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to support actions and recommendations; composes and types correspondence into final form which requires reference to regulations, related correspondence, precedents, and guides pertinent to the area of contract administration
  • Analyze, research, and identify task/delivery orders requiring actions to include exercising of options, contract administration matters and task orders that have been delivered
  • Utilize government personal computer and a variety of associated software programs to prepare complex documents and extract, revise, or sort information from files, records, and databases.
  • Perform other and administrative duties as assigned to support contract specialist in the execution of contract closeouts.
Required: Years of Experience (min)
  • 5+ years of experience in government contract administration
Required: Degree
  • Completion of courses leading to Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification at any level in Contracting
  • *Preferred: DAWIA certification preferred

Required Skills:

  • T&M, cost-type, and FFP contracts, and GSA Schedules.
  • RFQs’, task orders, purchase orders, and closeout contracts (cradle to grave government contract administration).
  • Electronic Document Access (EDA), and Contract Action Reports (CARS) and Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), i.e. Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) to include reporting, uploading, tracking progress and resolving identified contract deficiencies in all.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge:
    • Government contracting to include the concepts of post award administration, purchasing, General Schedule Administration (GSA), Multiple Award IDIQ contracts, Task Orders and Delivery Orders.
    • Federal Procurement Regulations.
    • All appropriate ethical standards regarding contracting actions in accordance with agency ethics regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and any FAR supplements.
  • Demonstrated Experience:
    • Government contract closeouts
    • Concepts of direct cite funding, and the use of Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs)
    • Requisition Tracking and Purchase Request creation and processing
    • Computer operations, including familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Access, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat; Windows network environment
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
