Daily Responsibilities

Support US AFRICOM located in Stuttgart, Germany. Responsibilities:

  • The AMX Audio Visual/VTC Programmer is primarily responsible for programming the Command's AMX control systems, to include the design, installation, and continuing support of graphic touch panel interface layouts based on customer requirements. They will have knowledge of AV/VTC hardware, software and network connections. Responsible for audio visual systems management IAW DoD and CCMD Policy, Procedures, and current architectures.
  • Takes an active role in the design and installation of small to large-scale AV systems to include: video teleconferencing, sound systems, lighting, displays, and Command-and-Control operation centers. Works with the engineering staff to develop and maintain network requirements, architectures, and designs. Candidate must also understand how AMX programming cause/effect impacts the overall audio visual systems. Must be able to establish templates, and program to intuitive user interfaces. Documenting and maintaining operations, network development, and maintenance processes and procedures. Support AV programming, audio design, digital signage, communications, data, and control systems with existing and new AV control systems. Troubleshoot hardware cabling and components in addition to touch panel programming.
  • May also mentor or train other Audio Visual/VTC Programmers or Technicians. sThe successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.
  • Will develop, maintain, update and provide O&M virtual device management system and audio visual capability through the ThinkLogical Architecture. Support the various VTC rooms throughout their Area of Responsibility. Conduct user training, provide status briefs, develop, update and maintain SOPs and operational guides on AV systems. Provide initial troubleshooting regardless of IT system/device or network and/or service provider. Additionally, the Audio Visual/VTC Programmer will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required.
Required: Years of Experience (min)
  • TESA eligible
  • Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and be able to maintain
  • BA/BS + 7 years recent specialized or AA/AS +9 years recent specialized or a major cert + 9 years recent specialized or 13 years of recent specialized experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience programming AMX systems
  • AMX - ACE Certification
  • DOD 8570 IAT 2 compliance
Required Degree
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
Desired: Experience
  • ITIL v3 - Foundation
  • AMX/Creston Certifications
  • Experience in installing, operating, and/or maintaining ThinkLogical systems.
  • Experience programming Crestron systems.
  • CCNA - Video (Collaboration)
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs
  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
  • Experience working with basic networking to include foundations of Cisco Routers and Switches
  • Experience with DoD IT security requirements
