Daily Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities include Strong problem determination and solving skills, making sound judgment, and the ability to assess the impact on upstream and downstream components. Assess and take appropriate actions to resolve technical issues, address threats and risks proactively from security vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain and support Data storage systems. Support day-to-day operations, including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
  • Create and maintain an intelligent and secure data storage infrastructure, including Deployment, Implementation, Configuration, and Administration.
  • Coordination and cross-collaboration with Agency Management, staff, Project Managers, and Vendors.
  • Customer Service and coordination with the Client and customers. Effective communication, both orally and in writing, with senior staff, information systems professionals, and the non-technical user community.
  • Plan, design, and evaluate hardware and software; Provide recommendations to enhance and improve Enterprise Data Storage Systems as a whole.
  • Develop test plans, Conduct Proof of concepts and validations, and provide completion reports.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, Architecture diagrams, and standardized procedures. Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and brown bag sessions on road maps. Create documentation with step-by-step procedures and reports, including but not limited to status updates, After Action Reports, Standard Operating Procedures, System Baseline Change Requests, and Configuration Management Plans.
  • Maintain and update procedures, technical documentation, and follow the Change management procedures
  • Performance and capacity planning, trending, preparing reports and presentations.
  • Position requires the ability to work shifts to provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, participate in an On-Call rotation, and be available on demand to address technical problems and support weekend activities. Performs other duties, projects, and tasks, as assigned.

Required: Degree

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (+10 years) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a similar relevant degree.

Required: Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Shall have the ability to effectively communicate both orally (in common English narration) and in writing ( to include technical documentation) with Agency staff. This includes senior staff, system owners, and technical and nontechnical users.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, handling multiple simultaneous and changing priorities.
  • Ability to both work independently and function effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people with a variety of skills and experiences, in addition to building and maintaining relationships across different functions and organization levels.

Required: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • SAN and NAS Storage Architectures, Design, Administration, and Support of SAN, NAS Storage systems.
  • Expertise in  Enterprise-level NetApp Storage systems/arrays and Cisco M DS SAN switches.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft File NAS. Managing, modifying, applying, and fixing Share and Windows NTFS Folder and File permissions, access, ACLs on Active Directory Groups and Users.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Fiber Channel SAN and NAS Storage- NVMe-oF, NVMe, NVMeTCP, FCoE, FCIP, FC Block, iSCSI, Object, and File storage.
  • Cisco MDS9000 Multilayer SAN switches; Knowledge of VMware; Knowledge of Commvault Data protection software and IntelliSnap; Knowledge of AWS Cloud products.  Architectures, Configure and support Cloud storage solutions and services AWS FSXn, Blue XP workload factory, Trident, etc, but not limited to NetApp products.
  • Knowledge of Container technology such as Kubernetes & Dockers, Persistent storage types; Knowledge of Active Directory, DFS, Group Policies.
  • Programming experience in PowerShell, Power BI, shell, Python scripting, Application, and web development tools, JSON, YAML, proficient in using Microsoft and Office automation products such as Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint tools.
